Oakfield High School

This project was undertaken through the Wigan Council Framework. Due to another construction framework partner entering administration we were asked by the client to complete the works. Our partnering approach allowed for short lead in times and fast mobilisation this ensuring that the existing targets were met in terms of programme.

Oakfield High School and College in Wigan is a state special school for boys and girls aged from 11 to 19.

The works consisted of the redevelopment of an existing open field to the rear of Oakfield School into a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) pitch and the extension of the existing sports hall along with some external landscaping such as the formation of a new car park directly outside the sports hall.

Internal works included electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations, joinery works, sports fixtures and fittings, sprung floor and decoration.

The company has organised a Have A Go for a group of learners due to take place on March 2015. The day will comprise of a number of interactive sessions by both ourselves and our supply chain showing the learners the wide range of trades in the construction industry.

A video of the event can be found here:-
