Rosebrook Primary School

The project was to construct a single storey Primary school to amalgamate two older local schools that were in need of repair. The site was bounded by Roseworth Infants and Primary Schools as well as the local community centre and a large housing estate. Works involved the formation of a large S shaped steel frame, rendering and timber cladding. The formation of a Metsec pods for each classroom area with highly insulated coloured render provided a visual aspect to the building. Landscaping to the play areas and a rubber crumb features were inlaid in the tarmac with the provision of “pow wow” shades for a safer environment for the children. A number of sustainable construction products and methods were implemented in the project in the form of Ground source heat pumps, natural ventilation systems and under floor heating.
