The role
We’re looking for an experienced Social Value Coordinator to join our construction team on an 11-month maternity cover contract. The role is part-time, and we’re open to either 2 or 3 days per week, so let us know in your application what would suit you.
You’ll work with our project teams to plan, deliver and report on social value commitments, making sure we meet our framework and customer requirements.
Experience delivering social value projects is essential. Experience in a similar role in construction is preferred.
What you’ll do
• Plan and deliver Social Value Plans for our projects, and take ownership of them
• Focus on employment and skills, creating opportunities for people in the local area
• Work with the local community, schools and charities on each project
• Build relationships with stakeholders, including clients, councillors and local residents
• Support project teams to meet social value targets, spotting problems early and finding solutions
• Report progress to senior management and framework managers
• Lead external project communications, including newsletters, website updates and social media
• Work with the marketing team on PR, social media and case studies that show the difference our work makes
• Provide social value input for bids and marketing meetings
• Find new ways to meet and go beyond customer requirements
• Keep up to date with future social value requirements by networking with public and private sector bodies and attending special interest groups
What you’ll need
• Proven experience delivering social value projects
• Good knowledge of EDI, supply chain arrangements, responsible business practice and construction frameworks
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with a wide range of people
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
• A full UK driving licence, as the role involves regular travel to sites and meetings
