Cooper Art Gallery

Client: Barnsley Council
Value: £425k

Built in 1769 the building was originally the home to Barnsley Grammar School.

The works to the gallery included the construction of a new two storey extension including disabled lifts, the refurbishment of the existing gallery, children’s ‘learn zone’, new external landscaping and green wall.

Internally, the fit-out and finishes within the gallery were compliant with the high and exacting standards required for a modern public facility whilst being mindful of the need to keep humidity and moisture control in place to safeguard the art exhibits.
